Be Tulum - Mexico

3 years ago this January i was in Tulum mexico!
Now thats not exactly close for us Australians, but i have to say i absolutely LOVED Mexico & it was worth the distance! We spent 4 days on Isla Mujeres & 1 week in Tulum.

Tulum is a real 'eco' area with alot of places having no electricity & showers being salt water! Think white sand, palm trees, aqua blue water, turtles swimming past & $2 margaritas on the beach! We stayed at 'Zulum' and made friends with some guys from San Francisco who we are still in contact with & spent a few days (along with bens parents) staying with them in San franciso last Christmas! Dont you love travelling & some of the amazing people you meet!

Anyway....I have just come across this place - BE TULUM...WOW....i can tell you now when we go back, this is where you'll find me! This first image is my new screen saver - just looking at it is giving me the fuzzies - perfect location & amazing design! I must go here!

Malm - an Ikea gem!

Great stylish drawers used as a sideboard in this room right?
Well its the Ikea malm 6 drawer dresser and its only $399!

I think this would look great in any room & the 3 drawer version would be a good bedside table too! Ive also seen it with a long cushion ontop as a window seat with drawers! Genius!

The kitchen belongs to NYC interior designer Jennifer Jones.

This gold splashback is probably one of the best i have ever seen!
Its made me EXTREMELY excitable....infact im off to my tile supplier today to see if they have anything similar! Right....which one of my clients wants a blinging gold splashback?!?!

And just to make it even more awesome check out the boring 'before' shot!

The Block - Who will win?!

'The Block' finishes tonight! I have been loving this show!
In terms of the renovations, i think they have all done a great job but Jake & Erin probably do have that wow factor - but only if you like black & white! Shame about their cheating! Have to say im a little disspointed that the Sydney Morning Heald decided to publish an article today telling us some info about tonights episode that would have been nicer to see for ourselves!!

The other (non surprise ruining ) info in the article was ;
In early marketing, potential buyers were advised the apartments would fetch more than $900,000. The invitation-only auction was held under tight security at Vaucluse House.
Channel Nine's New South Head Road block was bought for $3.4 million with vendor finance this year, with $160,000 in stamp duty. It underwent a quick update before the contestants had 52 days and $80,000 to renovate their apartments. John and Neisha in apartment one spent $95,000. Mark and Duncan, the two tradies in apartment two, spent $90,000. Erin and Jake spent $94,853 in apartment three, which has the block's highest strata fee. Cheryl and Brenton in apartment four spent $89,974. Another $100,000 was spent on improving common areas. The Vaucluse unit market has not been strong. The suburb has achieved an $800,000 average price for a three-bedroom unit so far this year, according to Australian Property Monitors, compared with $888,000 in 2009.

House in Rio de Janeiro

I stumbled across this home in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by Progetto Arquitetura & Interiores on Design Milk
 ...wow wow & more wow!

The goal was to create a union between the indoor and outdoor areas using a contemporary language. That language — being awesome — allowed them to create an expanded area for leisure activities that feels very much a part of the entire residence. There are three main levels: the social areas (kitchen, living, dining) on the bottom floor and then the bedrooms and private areas on the top two. There are two sets of stairs (one for service) and an elevator. Using high ceilings to create large yet integated spaces

Love the great spacious and airy feel and the use minimal natuaral matrerials like stone & timber, the landscaping & palms also really set off the neutral colour pallete. My two favourite features are the huge shutters opening to the pool (and how fantastic that palm looks infront of them!) & the vision through the huge pivot front door to the stairs and how they've used the timber here. Something as simple as the slat work & cladding the stairs to create a really 'architectural' look.

This image gives me the fuzzies!!
